Growing Tips
Short, rounded roots means this carrot variety isn't prone to forking and can be successfully grown in heavier clay soils where longer carrots might become misshapen. This variety can also be grown successfully in pots and other containers. Fertilise soils only lightly for best root growth, planting carrots into soils that are too rich will promote foliage growth at the expense of root growth. Water carrots regularly to prevent roots from cracking and harvest young for best flavour and texture. Choose a growing site that receives full sun or light shade.
When To Sow
Sow 'Paris Market' carrot seeds from September to October in colder regions, from September to October or March to May in temperate and subtropical regions, or from March to May in tropical regions of Australia.
How To Sow
Sow directly in trenches about 1cm deep. Thin to the strongest carrot seedlings about 4cm apart after a week or two of growth. Mixing carrot seed with fine river sand before sowing can help thin out the seeds and reduce the amount of thinning required later. Sow a few rows each week during the growing season to ensure a continuous supply of carrots.
Germination Time
Carrot 'Paris Market' seeds take between 10 and 18 days to germinate depending on growing conditions.
Time To Harvest
